QXR-EW
Electronic Waste Sorter / Separator
Comply
with WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment)
Directive...
Ideal for manufacturing
take-back programs, The QXR-EW sorting and separation system
provides a cost effective way to identify hazardous material
and recyclable/valuable material from electronic waste products.
•
Sort and separate components containing hazardous metals,
such as Mercury (Hg) and Lead (Pb).
• Recover precious metals from electronic waste
• Sort PCBs from other scrap material
Automated Sorting with QXR-EW
The QXR-EW is
a downward looking X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer
with an integrated CCD camera used to analyzer samples passing
on a conveyor. Co-developed with one of the world's most
advanced recyclers, the instrument provides rapid and accurate
separation of a wide variety of electronic waste products.
The QXR-EW is
typically integrated over a conveyor, downstream from the
shredder. Materials passing under the CCD camera are detected,
sending a signal to the analyzer that a sample is present
and to begin analysis. The material type is determined by
chemistry. Sample is diverted from the conveyor by linear
mechanics for deposition into product collection bins (or
similar. In this manner, up to 15 different material types
can be sorted by grade.
The instrument
improves upon speed and accuracy of manual sort methods,
and can further specify materials after shredder and eddy
current separation. More than a ten fold increase in material
sorting can be achieved, with accuracy of 98% or better.
Products with this high degree of accurate separation have
the highest resale value.
