The red line
represents the signal created from the Taco Sauce(Conductive Product).
Refering back to
the slide with the metal signals, we can see that stainless steel(SS) phases
out at the same place as the Taco Sauce.
This is why we have a hard time finding stainless steel in conductive
products.
If we look at
the green line(EZ6 football) we can
see that the length of the football
can be made large enough to contain the product, yet small enough to allow a
detection of the stainless steel.
Note that there
are some limitations to using the football in this manner. First the size of the product signal may be
so large in comparison to the SS, that the addition of the SS signal is
insignificant. Also if the product
varies considerably, then the football length will have to be opened up,
therefore a larger piece of SS will be needed to break the football boundary.
