The Problem:
At a leading chocolate candy manufacturer, four small bolts
and shims were discovered missing from a chocolate molding
plate, immediately following a production run of 25,000 candy
bars. Management feared the fasteners might have been molded
into some of the candy, now wrapped and boxed.

The Equipment:
Eriez E-Z Tec® aperture-type Metal Detector

The Solution: An Eriez E-Z Tec® Metal
Detector was used to first scan the cardboard cases. Those
boxes in which the E-Z Tec® found metal were opened
so the individual candy bars could be passed through the
metal detector.

The Result:
The Eriez Metal Detector identified the contaminated candy,
which was removed from the lot so the order could be quickly
repackaged and shipped on time. An Eriez E-Z Tec® Metal
Detector is now a permanent part of their chocolate candy
line.
