In
1969, Eriez Magnetics patented both permanent magnetic and
electromagnetic eddy current separators. These powerful
systems feature improved permanent magnetic circuits with
Rare Earth Erium® 3000 for stronger eddy currents and
improved separation of non-ferrous materials.
In operation, the non-ferrous separator utilizes permanent
rare earth magnets to induce eddy currents into metallic
particles. This produces repelling forces which separate
the metallics from non-metallics, providing a cleaner product
for further processing. Removal of the metallics is selective
and product loss is minimized.
FEATURES:
Stronger Eddy current fields. Eriez draws upon its expertise
in magnetics to develop a more powerful separator than competitive
units.
Each eddy current non-ferrous separator is designed for
your application. Single-source dependability and overall
system integrity.
Utilizes a high-gradient Erium 3000 Rare Earth permanent,
non-electric magnetic rotor element for significant power
savings. Erium 3000 is over 5 tiems stronger than conventional
permanent magnets.
Grease retainers to extend bearing life
Patented Kevlar / ceramic surfaced shell to protect the

APPLICATIONS:
Ideal
for material recovery facilities wishing to automate removal
of nonferrous metals from trash, MSW, sand, glass, dirt,
electronic scrap and shredded automobiles. Available in
feed widths of 24, 36 48 and 60 inches. Here is a little
more application information about Eriez' Permanent Magnetic
Eddy Current Separators.
Foundry Sand: Eriez Eddy Current Separators
remove non-ferrous metals like aluminum or brass from spent
foundry sandmold chunks. This provides a remeltable metal
and the sand can be treated and reused or land-filled as
non-hazardous waste. Screening Feeders can help size the
chunks to improve Eddy performance. Many automotive foundries
also use Eriez Eddys.
Glass:
Eriez Eddy Current Separators remove nonferrous metals from
recycled glass monitors, fluorescent bulbs and other specialty
glass. Magnetic Drums pretreat the glass are prior to the
Eddys.
Wood
Waste: Eddy Current Separators are the final step
in purifying shredded pallets, wood paneling and lumber
before it is ground and mixed with resins to press out medium
density fiberboard (MDF). The MDF is used to make inexpensive
wooden furniture. Belt, Pulley and Drum Magnets remove the
magnetic metals prior to the Eddy.
PET/Plastics:
Special Eriez Eddy Current Separators remove trace amounts
of small nonferrous metallics from granulated plastic PET
beverage bottles. This allows the flakes to be used to make
new products including banding. Eriez Drum, Grate and RE
Rolls are also used to pretreat the PET prior to the Eddy.
Boiler
Bottom Ash: Eriez Eddy Current Separators remove
nonferrous metals from bottom ash generated by refuse (garbage)
fueled co-gen plants. Aluminum used beverage cans (UBCs)
that look like nuggets and red metals like faucets/plumbing
hardware are typically repelled, as well as coins that can
be sold. Drum and Belt Magnets are used ahead of the Eddy
to remove the magnetic metals.
E-Scrap:
Eriez Eddy Current Separators remove liberated nonferrous
metals from shredded computers and electronic scrap. Some
of the precious metals can be concentrated and sold to refiners.
