The flexible connection between the stationary section and
the vibrated section is of neoprene construction (as standard).
It is 7/16-inch thick with three plies of nylon reinforcement
made in an endless configuration. Externally the sleeve is
50 durometer and has two raised edges which prevent the sleeve
from slipping out from under the clamps. Internally it is
30 durometer construction which allows it to seat firmly on
3/16-inch thick diameter beads welded to the bin
activator rings.
The clamps holding the sleeve are 1-inch wide x 16 gage stainless
steel strapping with telescopic type take-ups. This allows
for take-up with no pinching of the sleeve. Multiple take-ups
are used to achieve equal clamping of the sleeve.
The suspension system is designed to take the head load of
product on the bin activator, allowing it to move freely through
its vibrator amplitude. In addition, it maintains the bin
activator on center. The system consists of a solid block
of steel with holes bored in each end at 90° to each other.
Vibration isloaters are pressed into the holes and hardened
bolts fasten the suspension arms to the bin activator. Because
of the 90° bolting, the bin activator cannot be forced
off center. This eliminates the possibility of the flexible
sleeve being loosened and product being lost from the bin.
The vibrator or power source for the Metalfab Bin Activator
is a unitized design. It is a motor equipped with oversized
roller bearings and is built to withstand the rigors of vibration.
Eccentric weights are clamped to the motor shaft. There are
two weights on either side of the motor which allow force
settings from 0 to maximum in stepless increments. A calibrated
dial is fixed to the weights to provide ease of adjustment.
The weight sections are covered with cast or spun covers secured
by bolts and have an "O" Ring seal.
All Metalfab Bin Activators are supplied with a mounting ring
which can either be welded or bolted to the bin. This arrangement
allows for factory welding of all mounting brackets which
maintains alignment of the support system.
