Metalfab Volumetric Screw Feeders are simple, low-cost, ruggedly
built feeders that provide extremely accurate, dependable
metering of a wide range of dry particulate materials. Virtually
maintenance-free, Metalfab feeders have only 5 moving parts
or less. An agitator / conditioner screw fills the feed screw
completely, resulting in feed accuracies of +/- 1 to 1 1/2%.
Many models are available including Sanitary Screw Feeder,
Space Saving Screw Feeder, Mini Screw Feeder, and a combination
Screw Feeder / Conveyor for 3' to 12' length.
All feed screws are made with through shafts to eliminate
breakage. These shafts are supported by oversized ball bearings,
which are sealed and provided with grease fittings.
Standard units, in 1" to 6" screw sizes, have feed
rates of 0.3 to 550 cu. ft./hr. A 5 cu. ft. hopper, with 70°
sloped sides and large rectangular outlet, provides capacity
for most surge conditions. If desired, the hopper can be removed
and replaced with up to 10" diameter inlet trough cover.
The unit can then be preceded by a Metalfab Bin
Activator or Posibin.
Interchangeable screw and tube combinations permit feed rates
beyond the 20:1 range of variable speed drive.
